I’m excited to share this with you…
6 June 2024
I have a painting that I lost, yes, lost - I'd even 'sold' it, but when I went to pack it for shipping I couldn't find it. Anywhere. It's still not turned up. Maybe surprisingly, it seems that it is not an uncommon thing for artists to lose paintings, so I don't feel quite so vulnerable in sharing this...
I thought about prints of that painting before - but the original was not quite A3, and I didn't know how to format it correctly in the printing service offered by the (not-for-profit) organisation that print my cards - so had never got round to it.
Recently though I made contact with a local printer who was able to sort all that, and tweaked the colours until I was happy. I also decided to add prints of two more paintings that sold.
I'm really very happy with how they look in their mounts. I also bought some very reasonably prices frames (from the range in the UK) and took some photos around my house, just so you can see how amazing art can look in your home at perhaps a more affordable price-point. It doesn't even matter what colour your walls are either!
The Sage II, A3 print in mount to fit 16" x 20" frame, £40
Dancing with shadows, 12" x 12" print in a mount to fit 16" x 16" frame, £40
Agapanthimpsest, 12" x 12" print in a mount to fit 16" x 16" frame, £40
Framed prints on my walls, looking great with any of our wall colours!
Quick studio update
I finished my 100 day project! I'll write more about what I learnt along the way in a future newsletter. In the mean time you can see ALL 100 collages on this instagram post.
Workshops are going really well so if you've fancied giving gel printing a go, head on over to my website for more info and ways to book.
Preparations for our Patterns, Pots and Plants exhibition that opens in less than a month are going well. Find all the details here.
Bye for now,
Lucy
