hello and welcome

Exhibitions and studio update

Patterns, Pots and Plants, my joint exhibition in July with Susan Webb, was just amazing. Apologies for not sharing about it during the event. It was such a lot of work to get it ready I kind of ran out of steam and I find I really have to be in the mood to write. It doesn't come as naturally as painting, unfortunately. Suffice to say that it looked great, we had the best time curating our work together. We had lovely feedback, sold a few pieces and cards, and we're going to do it all again next July with new paintings!

I have also been suffering from a creative block. I usually have so many ideas, but for some reason nothing was pulling me in - instead I made some mini concertina sketchbooks. I kept showing up, trusting that something will spark, and it did... while I was 'supposed' to be preparing for September's Open Studios (more below). Totally by surprise a little one I've had sat on my shelf for two years or so called me to finish her.

Flourish is a soft and sparkly number, 6" x 8" on cradled wood panel. It is available unframed for a newsletter subscriber {sign up below} at a small discount of £75, £80 on my website and free UK shipping

Drop me an email to make it yours and / or discuss framing options!

Despite those distractions, everything is now ready for the Northants and Rutland Open Studios Central Exhibition at Lamport Hall, which runs for the whole of September. You can find out more about what I'm up to during the month on my website, which will be updated further as the events and exhibitions get closer.

Alongside the framed works I have two original gel printed monotypes and two each of my larger Art Prints (Dancing with shadows, Agapanthimpsest and The Sage II) in the browsers, and of course my mini masterpiece (each artist donates a small work for a £10 per entry 'lucky dip').

Can you help?

I created a number of new cards in preparation for this summer's events. I only ended up taking two card designs to our July exhibition, where they sold pretty well. I don't have a huge amount of stock now. I'd really appreciate your feedback on selling them in packs of six. There are only two options, so please just plump for your gut decision. You're welcome to hit reply and tell me if you'd do it completely differently, but I know most of us are busy busy busy, so click one button and it's done!

Option 1: Pack of six with one card 'set' only - e.g. 6 seed pods, 3 of each design, or 6 agapanthus, 2 of each design

Option 2: Pack of 6 with one 'pair' from your choice of 'sets', e.g. 2 tulips, 2 autumn leaves and 2 of the agapanthus.

Voting no longer available!

Many thanks in advance for your help. I'll give you the results of my poll in the next newsletter!

Bye for now,

Lucy
