New Painting Alert!
12 November 2025
Just a quick one from me this time...
All through September and October - while open studios was happening and while creating new Christmas Card designs - I've been taking a course called Approaches to Abstraction. As part of that course I've started creating some new paintings that are perhaps a little more abstract than I've created before.
The painting I'm featuring today is heading off to its first exhibition next week but I wanted to give you the first opportunity to purchase it!
Within the Shadows
Within the Shadows is inspired by memories of my painting holiday in Morocco. The colours and shapes come from Villa de Souss, and our first morning capturing textures by taking plenty of photos as well as making rubbings with wax crayons or candles. {did that bring back any memories for you?}
Here it is on the wall in my studio - it complements my gel printed star decorations in the window quite well, I think!
Here you can see some of the details, with the delicious texture and the gorgeous copper paint, which is unfortunately almost impossible to photograph!
This painting is heading off to The Heseltine Gallery Open Exhibition in Middleton Cheney (near Banbury).
Within the Shadows is an acrylic painting on 30cm diameter canvas. It is unframed but the edges are painted in luscious dark green and it is protected with UV satin varnish. £255 with free shipping if you live the UK. Oversees purchasers contact me for an estimate!
If you've seen enough you can purchase online.
If you want to see more details you are welcome to visit the studio or I can set up a video call. Click here and let me know me your availability.
