Picking up from the last email where I explained how busy 2024 had been, but not for creating new paintings: I have managed to complete not one, or two, but THREE since the beginning of December!
As usual, I am sharing these new paintings with you first. They are so new that I've not even finished framing them yet (so no photos in frames, I'm afraid).
If you want to purchase any of these new paintings please get in touch and I'll let you know the process, as they will be delivered to Lamport Hall for the Northants and Rutland Open Studios Spring Open Exhibition next Saturday.
New paintings…
19 January 2025
Time Passes, with Lemon
Acrylic and collage on canvas board
£235
Framed size: 42 x 52 cm in a modern white wood slope frame.
A still life depicting the passage of time in a room with a table, two jugs and a lemon.
Eden View
Acrylic and collage on canvas
£250
Framed size: 49.5 x 39.5 cm in a simple white wood tray frame.
The inspiration was the structure of the biomes of the Eden project, looking up at the viewing platform from inside. I find it fascinating how pentagons and hexagons create such an organic bubble shape.
Running on Empty
Acrylic and collage on paper
£200
Framed size: approx. 48 cm square. With double mount and light wood frame.
A larger-than-life abstract of my glass of water, or rather, my empty water glass!

Fancy exploring still life painting?
Starting Monday 20 January, I'm taking Gabriella Buckingham's Experimental Still Life Experience course. Back in 2021 I took the first iteration of her course and described it as "the course I never knew I needed". I absolutely LOVE Gabriella's live teaching and her amazing activities never fail to get me painting.
The course runs from January to August with weekly LIVE painting demonstrations and Q&A. Gabriella is like no other teacher I've experienced live-streamed, it feels like you're in the room with her, she is responsive to questions as they arise.
We are taking the modules a month at a time, so we can delve deeper into the generous number of exercises Gabriella provides. You can pick and choose the approaches and processes that appeal most to you to develop your own unique way of painting still life.
If you’re interested in joining us, you can find out more and enrol until the end February using my affiliate link: {Link no longer valid}
Please let me know if you use my link to sign up and I'll be in touch to arrange a special thank you, as well as championing you along the journey!
Bye for now,
Lucy
