A new painting and prints

24 May 2026

and another new YouTube video (short)

It feels like quite some time since I shared NEW work.

I'm still exploring the idea of patterns of place. When I visit a new 'place' – and that does not necessarily mean while on holiday – I find my camera roll full of patterns, shapes, textures and lines. Patterns appear to be my comfort zone, psychologically it has something to do with repetition and predictability.

This new piece is a bit of a stand-alone, started while I was still working on the Moroccan pieces (currently being exhibited in Olney), and completed while exploring the cube houses I mentioned in the last newsletter. Diamond patterns are still prominent. A change in colours to reflect the location.

Near the Station, A3, Collage and mixed-media on 220gsm Seawhite of Brighton Cartridge paper.

I'd like to purchase Near the Station.

New Prints

And now for something completely different... as the saying goes! I created the following tiny prints to submit to the Small Print International exhibition at Leicester Print Workshop. The prints needed to be less than 5" square. After image transferring a photo of a sketch onto a teabag for another project, I had an idea: I could use my own previous work to transfer onto teabags.

My perfect combination.

A Kettle collage that I created during a previous 100 day project, a Teapot piece from my teapot sketchbook and a sketch of a Mug that I did at my parents house quite a few years ago.

Sadly, I don't think I managed to take the best photos of them for the submission to Small Print International and they were rejected – or maybe it was just not what they were looking for.

So I gave them a new look by deckling the edges of the paper and float mounting them in deep white wood frames.

I've submitted them to another exhibition, but if you love these prints as much as I do and want to give them a home, please get in touch. They are £105 each.

New youTube video

A 3-minute sketchbook flip-through of my 2021–2024 collage sketchbook, that I promised for someone ages ago. I can't remember who asked me, but I do hope they get to see it.

I have a longer, talk-through, version of this sketchbook tour that I might release in the future. Let me know if this is something you would prefer, or if you like the short version.

Bye for now,
